Challenges for the aviation employment market

The Dutch aviation industry has identified a number of future challenges. These include a major shortage of skilled workers, especially in engineering. The number of jobs in air traffic is expected to grow steadily in the coming years. This requires the intake of new employees, especially if the economy picks up and the volume of air traffic continues to rise. The rising number of ageing employees in the aviation industry will widen the gap between new members ultimately joining the future workforce. Ensuring the absorption of new employees and safeguarding the vitality and employability of the existing workforce therefore are key objectives.
